About Us

The ThoughtFullBoard Story

One evening I was having dinner with a long-time mom friend, Joanne Corner. With our kids in school together, we had shared many parenting conversations over the years. On that particular night, we got to talking about some of the frustrations around kids. I know, a typical topic for moms!

What was particularly frustrating for us at that time was that we felt like we were spending too much time nagging our children about making healthy choices. We felt we were too often saying “don’t eat that”, “you need more sleep” and “get off your screens”. Joanne mentioned that with all the organizational tools I use around my busy household, surely there could be a solution out there that would encourage and re-enforce children to make independent healthy choices.

There wasn’t. So what do a couple of entrepreneurial moms do in this situation? We create a solution. The ThoughtFullBoard was born. It is a functional and beautiful tool to encourage children to make independent, healthy choices. We wanted to create, in children, a lifestyle that would last a lifetime. We know parents are overwhelmed, so this simple tool encourages small acts of wellness.

But what is a great product without an amazing community of like-minded, pro-active parents and experts? We know that a strong community providing support to our customers was key. We are so excited to support our community with a panel of experts who willingly share their knowledge on a whole host of issues that impact families.

Welcome to the ThoughtFullBoard. We are happy to be here and look forward to an incredible journey with our company.

Sarah Remmer,

(Nutrition Expert)

As a Mom of three, Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist with a specialty in pregnancy, babies and kids, I have a passion for good food, and teaching parents how to healthfully (and realistically!) feed their families. Fueled on just the right amount of coffee (and the odd glass of wine), I know first-hand what it's like to be in the “trenches”.

Since becoming a Mom in 2010, my practice has evolved into a thriving consulting and communications business that focuses on pediatric and family nutrition. My true passion lies in teaching parents not only what to feed their kids, but also how, giving them invaluable tools that help them to nurture their child’s relationship with food for life. We work with parents one-on-one, as well as with companies, brands and commodities that we believe in, to boost their credibility and improve their marketing messages.

My website and blog (www.sarahremmer.com), contains practical tips and advice for parents and families on feeding and nutrition, as well as nutritious and easy recipes and recipe videos.

My 10+ years of dietetics and counseling experience spans across many areas, including pre- and post-natal nutrition, infant and child nutrition, picky eating, chronic disease management, and healthy weight management. I also have training and experience in Eating Disorders and disordered eating behaviours.

I consider my best credential being a Mom, but for those who would like to know what my “hard” credentials are…
